Classic painted picket fences and gates for period homes and front yards. Built square, painted properly.
Nothing suits a Californian bungalow, Edwardian or weatherboard home like a proper picket fence. We build ours from treated pine or hardwood on solid posts, with evenly spaced pickets, a straight capping or rail line, and a gate that hangs square and swings true for years.
Front fences on the peninsula often come with council height limits and heritage guidelines. We know them, we build to them, and we’ll paint or stain the finished fence so it looks the part from day one.

How high can a front picket fence be?
Most councils allow front fences up to 1.2m without a permit on standard streets, and lower on some heritage or main-road frontages. We’ll check the rules for your street before we quote.
Painted or stained?
Painted pickets give the classic crisp look and hide the timber grain; stain shows the grain and is quicker to refresh. Both hold up well when the timber is primed and sealed properly, which we always do.
How much does a new fence cost in Melbourne?
It depends on the style, height, length and site access. A standard treated pine paling fence is the most economical, Colorbond sits a little above it, and aluminium slat and merbau are premium options. We give free, itemised quotes so you know exactly what you’re paying for, with no surprises on the day.
How quickly can you start?
Fast is the whole point. We’ll get out to quote quickly, and most residential fences are booked in within a couple of weeks. Storm-damaged or unsafe fences get priority.
Do you remove the old fence?
Yes. Removal and disposal of the old fence is included in our quotes, and we leave the site clean when we’re done.
